Hi
I am using my SQL and I have managed to create the connection but Could anyone guide me through how to do a scheduled refresh without having to keep my PC on all the time?
Direct connection to the SQL database?

Hi @Rushan,
A gateway is required to set scheduled refresh for a dataset live connecting to SQL. Once the machine where you installed gateway is off running, the gateway will be offline, because of which the scheduled refresh will be disabled. It is best to install the gateway on a machine that can be left running all the time. But, scheduled refresh through on-premises gateway in Power BI Service still works after you restart computer, just make sure the computer is turned on before the setted time poits of refresh.
