Loading Reports in PowerBI service using BigQuery

I have connected BigQuery using PowerBI Desktop. After publishing them and viewing in PowerBI service(powerbi.com), it is throwing error - The data source extension is missing credentials and cannot be accessed.

I have gone through the documentation and found that PowerBI Server doesn't support BigQuery. Is that same for PowerBI service?

Hi @EJohnK,

Please refer to the process in the link below for the takeover of the dataset.

How To Handle Power BI Data Refresh Error - Refresh Token Expired (c-sharpcorner.com)

Inside Power Bi Service and the workspace you have published go to the Dataset Settings and check the section Data Sources Credentials to edit them. Try to select OAuth2 in Authentication Method as depicted below and click on Sign in. If you have not created a data source, you can refer to this document to create one. If the popup does not offer service account login, clear the cache or try with other browsers.

For more detailed information refer to Google BigQuery connector - Power Query | Microsoft Learn

If adding credentials fails you can refer to the following link to resolve the problem. Solved: Not able to Add Credentials to Google BigQuery - Microsoft Power BI Community

Hi. You can connect Power Bi to BigQuery. There are two articles about it:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-connect-bigquery

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/connectors/googlebigquery

The message specifies that  you are missing credentials. Inside Power Bi Service and the workspace you have published go to the Dataset Settings and check the section Data Sources Credentials to edit them.

I hope that helps,
