Hi @icassiem,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
You are correct in the Line and Clustered Column Chart, when you plot a measure on the secondary axis (usually the line), Power BI currently does not support data labels (series labels) for the line values directly on the chart. This is a limitation with this visual type.
You can try couple of options as a workaround:
* Avoid the Legend, since you don’t want to use the legend, ensure that the series name is included in the data label configuration. If the visual doesn’t support this natively, you might need to combine the value and label in a calculated column and use that as the label.
* Instead of using the default Line and Clustered Column chart, consider creating a custom visual from AppSource (such as “Combo Chart” or “Dual Axis Line and Bar Chart”) that supports data labels on both axes.
* If your layout allows, you can overlay a separate line chart with transparent backgrounds to simulate the combined view while retaining full control over labels.
* If your goal is to highlight the percentage values like a KPI, consider placing card visuals or custom tooltips near the chart to display the line values directly without relying on the legend.
* If it’s feasible based on your data, move both series to the same Y-axis. This will enable data labels for both the columns and the line. You can adjust the scale accordingly.
I would also take a moment to thank @rohit1991, @lbendlin and @FBergamaschi for actively participating in the community forum and for the solutions you’ve been sharing in the community forum. Your contributions make a real difference.

Hi @icassiem
In Power BI, the built-in Line and Column chart does not support series labels directly on the chart (such as data labels for each line or column series name), especially for charts with dual axes (like your percentage on the secondary axis). You can show data labels for values, but there’s no option for series labels like in some other visualization tools.
This happens because Power BI relies on the Legend to identify series, not direct series labels on the chart. Also, the dual axis charts (Line and Column) restrict some formatting and label options for clarity and space.
Workarounds:
Legend Only: The only built-in way to show series identification is with the Legend (you can move or style it, but it must be visible).
Custom Text Boxes: If you must highlight a particular series, use a text box as a manual label positioned near your chart.
3rd-Party Visuals: Some custom visuals from AppSource (like Deneb or Charticulator) allow more control, including series labels directly on the chart.
KPI Scorecards: Not needed unless you want card visuals; for direct series labeling, it won’t solve the problem.

Apologies for the late reply, i needed the series lable to follow my line charts in my scoerecard design but this seems to much of a workaround for 1 line measure with the title already kinting the measure. i think if users are lost they should use the tooltip. i cant use 3rd party visuals etc
