Issues connecting to off-premise SQL Database

I am having difficulties connecting Power Bi to an off-premise server to access an SQL database.

 

Is anyone able to provide assistance with the server setup requirements to allow access from Power Bi? I am not familiar with configuration however my developers are requesting additional setup/security requirements. I am currently getting the error message "Microsoft SQL: A nework-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server....."

Hi @codycalder ,

If your database is stored in an internal network, I think you need to enable proxy settings to allow external requests access to this database.

Configure proxy settings for the on-premises data gateway 

For power bi service IP range, you can check the following link:
