Hi,
I have been constantly getting errors refreshing the Power BI report which is connected to a SQL server in a semantic model. The size of the report is approx 600mb. The report tries refreshing for a long time and then gives the following error:
Data source error: {"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_AdoNetProviderExecuteQueryTimeoutError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_AdoNetProviderExecuteQueryTimeoutError","parameters":{},"details":[],"exceptionCulprit":1}}} Table: de_transaction.

I have tried a lot of solutions provided in different forums but none of them worked, need urgent help on this issue. Thank you !
P.S I am utilizing the latest version of the On-Premises Gateway.
Hi, @Anonymous
Based on your description, you are experiencing issues when refreshing Power BI reports. The error code usually indicates a timeout issue during query execution. Here are some solutions you can try (be sure to back up your data before making any changes).
1. Increase the CommandTimeout and ConnectionTimeout parameters. The default value for CommandTimeout is 10 minutes and the default value for ConnectionTimeout depends on the driver. These values can be changed in Power Query.

2. Check the resources of the computer running the gateway to ensure that the computer running the gateway has enough hard disk space and available RAM.
3. Look at the data model and queries. Large, complex data models or inefficient queries may cause timeouts. Consider optimizing data models and queries to improve performance.
4. Network latency or instability may cause a timeout. If possible, test with an alternative network connection to see if the problem persists.

Hi @Anonymous
In the Table : de_transaction , do you have calculated columns?

Calculated Columns and Calculated Tables need to be avoided as much as possible. Add Calculated only when it is necessary to use as a filter category for exemple.
So go back to your desktop and start analysing which one is causing the Time out and replace it or replace all of the calculated columns by Measures.
