I deployed a report and trying to setup refresh but refresh is disabled . I can see my "Gateway and cloud connections" settings is turned to use "On premises or VNet Data gateway" . I am not sure why it is turned to that . I am have data sets from Oracle database which is deployed on amazon rds and cosmos database from Azure which I merged to use in same report . Any help is appreciated . Thanks

Hi @Balakrishna3690 - The required data gateway is not installed or properly configured.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/data-integration/gateway/service-gateway-install
Follow the below steps:
The data sources used in your report are not mapped to a gateway.Given your scenario—merging data from an Oracle database (hosted on Amazon RDS) and Azure Cosmos DB—here are the steps to resolve the issue:
1. Install and Configure the Gateway
Ensure the On-Premises Data Gateway is Installed:
Download and install the On-Premises Data Gateway.
During installation, log in with the same email used for Power BI.
Configure the Gateway in Power BI Service:
Navigate to Manage Connections and Gateways in the Power BI Service.
Add a new data source for each database:
Oracle Database (Amazon RDS):
Specify the server name, port, and database name.
Ensure the gateway is set up with credentials for connecting to the Oracle database.
Azure Cosmos DB:
Add it as a separate data source under the same gateway (if applicable).
Use the appropriate Cosmos DB connection details (Account URI, Key).
2. Ensure Data Source Mapping
After setting up the gateway:
Go to Gateway and Cloud Connections for your dataset in Power BI Service.
Map the dataset's data sources to the configured gateway connections.
Ensure all required data sources (both Oracle and Cosmos DB) are successfully mapped.
3. Merge Data Sources Correctly
When using multiple data sources:
Ensure that the Privacy Levels of the data sources are compatible:
Go to Power BI Desktop > File > Options and Settings > Options > Privacy and set them to Ignore (if possible, based on your organization's policy).
Confirm that cloud-based and on-premises data sources are supported in the same dataset. For example:
Oracle (RDS) requires an On-Premises Data Gateway.
Azure Cosmos DB may not need a gateway if you use a direct cloud connection.
4. Verify Gateway Access
Ensure that the account you're using to configure the refresh has Admin or User Access to the gateway.
Navigate to Manage Gateways and check the "Users" tab for your gateway.
5. Validate and Set Up Scheduled Refresh
Once the gateway is configured and data sources are mapped:
Go back to the dataset settings in Power BI Service.
Enable Scheduled Refresh and test the connection.
