Hello,
Since last week, I’ve been experiencing an issue with the refresh of my dataflow and semantic model in Power BI.
For the semantic model, the error appears as follows:
{"error":{"code":"DMTS_OAuthFailedToGetResourceIdError","pbi.error":{"code":"DMTS_OAuthFailedToGetResourceIdError","details":[{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorMessage","detail":{"type":1,"value":"Failed to get OAuth resource, please make sure the OAuth is supported"}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}}
I have already checked all the login credentials in the data sources.
I’m not sure which steps I should try next, as I’m still relatively new to this area.
Additional information:
Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance.
Hi @FLB,
If re‑authenticating didn’t solve it, double‑check that the SharePoint URL in your dataflow/dataset is the direct site or file path (for example)
https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/YourSite/Shared Documents/File.xlsx
And not a sharing link with /:x/r/ or ?web=1. Also make sure you’ve updated credentials for both the dataflow and the semantic model, and re‑entered them in the gateway if one is used.
After these changes, run a manual refresh — this usually clears the OAuth error. If it still fails, confirm with your Power BI admin that OAuth2 for SharePoint Online is enabled in tenant settings, as that can also block refresh.
Hi FLB,
We are following up to see if what we shared solved your issue. If you need more support, please reach out to the Microsoft Fabric community.
Thank you.
Thankyou, @rohit1991 and @AnkitKukreja for your responses.

Thank you.
Hi! @FLB
Can you takeover the DF and edit it and see if all tables are refreshing properly. Also, in source settings try to remove the creds and re-add yours. And then try refreshing the dataflow.
Hii @FLB
This OAuth error usually occurs when the SharePoint credentials used by the dataflow/semantic model are no longer valid or the previous owner left the company and their token expired. Go to Dataset/Dataflow >> Settings >> Data source credentials and re-authenticate SharePoint using OAuth >> Organizational account with a valid user that still has access. Also check Gateway settings if a gateway is used. Once credentials are re-entered and permissions confirmed, the refresh error normally resolves.
Thank you for your reply. I tried it as you mentioned, but it´s still not working. I have the same access rights for sharepoint, powerautomate, powerbi, etc. as the previous owner. Is there something else that could fail ?
