How to send automated emails based on report data
Hi folks,
I want to have a report in PowerBI automiatically send an email to me when:
- a date range on a column is nearing 6 months from today (ex: July 2026)
- a percentage amount hits 20% (for funds usage)
Is this possible in Power BI? I prefer to do it here than excel because the data is live.

vanillacone2025 Based on the error message you probably only have a Pro Workspace, not a Fabric Workspace (the error message mentions that you'd need to start a Fabric Trial, which was disabled by your admins). They are different types of licenses.
Without a Fabric License your best shot is to set up a custom solution with Power Automate. Here's a quick video I found on that matter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q64hFdbkGrE (Warning: I didn't test this myself, but it matches what I know about the topic from a few years ago)

Hi vanillacone2025 do you have just a Power BI Pro Workspace or a Fabric Workspace? Fabric Activator would be the easiest solution if you're using Fabric Workspaces, otherwise it's a bit more tricky, since you would need to build a custom solution using Power BI + Power Automate with a DAX measure that evaluates to TRUE/FALSE and a Power Automate flow polling the dataset to check the current state of your Measure.
Regular Power BI Subscriptions (which is usually the go-to for automated Report E-Mails) will just send an E-Mail with the current state of your report at fixed intervals, regardless of whether a specific condition is met or not right now.Hi Karin,
