Issue: Error Configuring PostgreSQL Cloud-Based Data Source for Scheduled Refresh in Power BI Servic

Issue: Error Configuring PostgreSQL Cloud-Based Data Source for Scheduled Refresh in Power BI Service Description: I am encountering an issue while configuring a PostgreSQL cloud-based data source for scheduled refresh in Power BI Service. After setting up the connection and attempting to update the data source credentials, I receive the following error: Details: Activity ID: 61b627ac-e62e-3eec-8228-f3d999930741 Request ID: e8a6b24b-66f3-c46f-9c5c-040666ae0dd Status code: 400 Time: Sun Sep 22 2024 19:31:47 GMT+0530 (India Standard Time) Service version: 13.0.24209.56 Client version: 2409.2.20860-train Cluster URI: https://wabi-india-central-a-primary-redirect.analysis.windows.net/ I've attached a screenshot of the error message for reference. What I've Tried: Ensured that .NET runtime (version 6.0) is installed and configured correctly. Updated the On-premises Data Gateway to the latest version. Verified data source configuration in the Manage Gateways section of Power BI Service. Re-entered and validated PostgreSQL credentials in Power BI Service. Despite these efforts, I am still unable to resolve the issue. If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has any suggestions on how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate your help. Screenshot: Thank you in advance for your assistance! You can adjust the text as needed, and be sure to upload the screenshot when you post the issue on the Power BI Community Forum.

Issue with Configuring Data Source Connection in Power BI Service Using On-Premises GatewayHi everyone,I am facing an issue while configuring the data source connection in Power BI Service using an On-Premises Data Gateway. Here is the background of my setup:I have imported data from a PostgreSQL cloud database into Power BI Desktop using Import Mode by providing the database and server name, along with my username and password.I built a report in Power BI Desktop and published it to Power BI Service. Now, I want to schedule a refresh for this report, so I installed an On-Premises Data Gateway and am trying to configure the data source in Power BI Service with the same credentials (database name, server name, username, and password). However, I am unable to connect, and one thing I have noticed is that the OAuth2 authentication method option is missing in the authentication method dropdown. What I have tried so far:Ensured that the gateway is installed and running in standard mode.Checked that the PostgreSQL cloud database credentials are correct.Looked through the data source settings in Power BI Service but couldn’t find the OAuth2 authentication option.Could someone guide me through the following?Complete steps to configure the data source connection in Power BI Service using an On-Premises Data Gateway.Requirements for connecting to a cloud-based PostgreSQL database.Any troubleshooting steps to resolve the missing OAuth2 authentication method. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi  @Sreekanth1996 ,

This issue has been confirmed as a known issue internally. Please be patient to wait for fixing. If there is any news, I will update it here.

Besides, please try the following workaround and check if it alleviates the issue.

* Create a PostgreSQL connection using a Gateway rather than creating a cloud connection Credential.

Best Regards,

Wearsky

@Anonymous Thanks for your reply,Even though I am connecting through the On-premises Data Gateway, I am getting the error mentioned in the screenshot. Additionally, I am unable to see the OAuth2 option in the authentication method, and only the Basic option is visible while configuring the data source

I have a problem with connect to my Azure Postgres. When I try connect to DB I see error: "Не удалось обновить учетные данные источников данных: An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'Could not load file or assembly 'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.Unsafe, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.'
