Is it possible to control the slicer selection a user sees (e.g latest month) after an App update

Hi,

We distribute a report every month and have a slicer with the months of the years so that a user can select the month of the report. Each month the latest month appears.

However, after we update the app and a user opens it. The latest month is not selected in the slicer and the user has to go to the slicer and choose the latest month.

Is there a way of forcing the selection to the latest month in the slicer?

Thanks

Tim

What ever filters applied on a report when published to Workspaces or/and updated in Apps are also kept and applied by default.

Hi @Johnners150 , If you want your users to only see the latest month, using relative dates in filter page is the best option. However, if you want users to navigate the report for other past months as well, consider implementing the solution provided by @aj1973

If you're open to using custom visuals in your report, the Preselected Slicer by Insiders is an excellent option. It offers the adventage of pre-selecting values automatically when the report is opened. Use below link to successfully implement it in your report :

Thanks but wondering if the Persistent Filters option in Options and Settings is a simpler solution. It was switched off:

I checked it to "Dont allow end users to save filters on this file in the Power BI service"

So I am hoping this means that the filters selected by the Admin when updating the App are applied whenever a user opens the report.
