I have found out an Anamoly which was creating this issue :
Power BI Service Accepts : xxxxxxx.us-east-1.snowflakecomputing.com
We need to provide select LOWER(CURRENT_ACCOUNT()); in it.
While Powerbi desktop accepts: xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx.us-east-1.snowflakecomputing.com
First Needs to be current orgganization and next should be account name.
Thta is why this issue was being there
Hi @Abhi007
Can you please let us know if you are connecting to Snowflake directly through web or if you are going through a gateway? Because as mentioned above the different configuration settings depending on how you are connecting.
Hi @Abhi007
Issue might be related to authentication method, gateway configuration or role permission instead username password itself. Verify Snowflake server name in Power BI service matches one used in Desktop, re enter credentials in Dataset settings - Data source credentials and ensure correct authentication type is selected and check whether on-premises gateway is required and properly configured
Hi @GilbertQ , @krishnakanth240 ,
Thanks for replying.
Actaully the main scenario is : I tried to connect via powerbi service and snowflake on 5th June, I was able to connect it properly with the same configurations, but I left it as is then on saturday I wanted to create a report but while creating the connection again, it started showing me the issue, while I have not done any changes at snowflake side , I tried many times and it did not worked, but then I thought of giving the same config on powerbi desktop and there I was able to connect properly but I wanted to do it via service but was not able to connect it.
Hi @Abhi007
Issue is specific to Power BI service. Try removing existing snowflake connection from manage connections and gateway and recreate it. Also check whether any authentication policies, network restrictions or tenant level changes when the issue started
