Hey @CEllis ,
When you check the "Install this app automatically" box in the Power BI app settings (as shown in your screenshot), the app gets automatically pushed to the "Apps" section of Power BI Service for all users who have permission to access it.
Does it push it into the apps areas in Power BI online only for those users that have access to it?
Yes, absolutely. It will only be installed automatically for users who are granted access to the app (through the permissions set in the app audience or security group).
"Install this app automatically":
Makes the app visible immediately to all allowed users, without them needing to search for or install it manually.
It appears under the "Apps" section in their Power BI workspace.
"Users that have access":
These are defined in the Permissions section during app publishing or republishing.
You can specify individual users, security groups, Microsoft 365 groups, or distribution lists.
If a user is not granted access, even if the setting is enabled, they will not see the app.
You can combine this setting with audiences, so different users/groups see tailored navigation views.

The app will be pushed to all users or groups defined in the Permissions section of the app on the Access tab.Tenant admin must enable Push Apps in the admin portal under Tenant settings. When enabled, app publishers will see the “Install this app automatically” checkbox and can push apps directly to users and groups.

Hi @CEllis That is correct. The App is installed automatically for those who has access to the App. The App is available in their list of available Apps.
