Hello everyone,
I'm trying to set up refresh schedule for my report on Power BI Service. My datasource is imported from my company's on-premises database. I have downloaded and installed the personal gateway on my one of Virtual Desktop in VDI which of course has been opened the port to connect the database. Restart the Virtual Desktop after installation, Run it and Sign in:
My account to connect database is read-only, I used to import the data to my report successfully so it worked. After all I only need to edit credential in refresh schedule but I face to this announcement:
I have no idea why this happen, can anyone help me? I face to this problem more than week and I still can not fix this. Many thanks to you guys

Hello @lbendlin
Today I have fixed this issues successfully. Look like the problem is I just need to change the Policy Level of the database to None and the connection to Organization. Not sure this is the solution for all cases but it can work in my case. Many thanks for your support until now sir ❤️
Hi @TungNguyen_19 ,
Your problem seems to be related to Power BI Service. I have routed it to the Service Forum. For future reference, you can post your questions on the Service Forum to receive a prompt and effective response.
Best Regards
that account type will not be suitable for a gateway - you need something with a reasonable pasword expiry (minimum every 90 days, better longer). Evaluate the use of Service Principals, or SQL Basic logins
That doesn't look like Basic authentication to me. Try Windows authentication.

Don't do that unless you need to serve Python/R based content. Instead, install the standard gateway (ideally on a multi-VM cluster)
Hi @lbendlin
I have changed to your solution (use Standard Gateway and use Windows authentication) but when I create connection added to gateway:
I face to this errors:
Did you know how to fix this sir?
Is the gateway VM joined to the domain?
Did you change the account the gateway is running under?
I use my Microsoft work account to sign in gateway instead of the account use to connect the server since this account is temporary account which be generated by microsoft identity manager
not what I meant. Show the Service Settings page on the gateway management app. I would recommend reinstalling the gateway with the default service account.
Hi @lbendlin
This is my Service Settings Page of my Gateway. As you recommended I think that I still leave it default service account ("NT SERVICE/...")
Ok good. And you are still getting the same error message?
That error message is usually "reserved" for SSAS connections. Please confirm that you are attempting to use Windows Authentication and your own credentials when trying to create the SQL Server database connection.

Hi @lbendlin
I use microsoft-identity-manager for create account password to connect the SQL Server database. Do I need admin account to create connection? Because my account is read-only and everytime I submit to generate password there is option expired time (most case i chose in 6 hours)
