Hello People -
My organization's windows password expires every few days and I'm forced to change the password every now and then.
With this change, comes the burden of updating my sharepoint passwords for all the web links I have made in Powerbi Dashboards. Since there are 25-30 of them, I feel tired and sick of it. Is there anything which I can do to update the password from backend or alternatives please?

Hi @Anonymous ,
From your description, your organization may have configured automatic password change in SharePoint Server, as described in this article . If so, recommend your admin increase the time interval of schedule change password . Since there is no such an option or feature to sync password in the SharePoint and in Power BI automatically. And you may need to edit credential one by one in data source settings manually.
While your demand is a good idea, you can post your new idea in Idea Forum , add your comments there to improve Power BI and make this feature coming sooner.

Amy

Hi @Anonymous ,
why not best practise and using instead of your user a technical user/ service user (password should be set on - password never expieres). 🙂
Best,
Kathrin

@KBO - Thank you for your prompt response. I don't think my organization provides any user in active directory with such options "not to expire" and moreover, all the accounts are linked that way. Is there any other alternative way to do it in Powerbi easily?
Hi @Anonymous ,
not that I know but someone else will answer your question too :).
Best,
Kathrin
