I have a shared dataset which is used by one of the users. This user has added his local modal to the dataset , which created a new dataset chained to my published dataset. He made 2 extra datasets based on my dataset. In the workspace of this user, I see my dataset which is used, but it has made another dataset which is called Analysis services using the connection string to my dataset.
The lineage should like look this:
My Dataset → dataset user 1 → report user 1
↳ → dataset user 2 → report user 2
In his workspace I see:
My dataset → dataset user 1 → report user 1
Analysis services dataset → dataset user 2 → report user 2
As you see, it has created 2 seperated datasets. I want dataset user 2 to be a child dataset of My dataset. I know how to rebind reports , but how can I rebind this dataset to my dataset. And why did it create an extra dataset?
Still no solution.
Hi @biuser98
It did not create a full new dataset, what it did instead was to create a copy of your dataset and then it contains the measures the user created.
Ideally I would bring those measures into your dataset and then rebind the report user 1 and report user 2 into your dataset?
So it creates a copy of my dataset? I have recreated this scenarion, added my own table and created some measures. It did not create a seperate copy of My dataset. Can you send me the documentation of this. I have never seen this before.
