Hello,
We are working with a dashboard that requires many changes to the actual PowerBI file. To keep from breaking things permantly, we clone the file before making a significant modification, that way we can always revert back to the old file if necessary. We publish this dashboard into a shared workspace, however each time we clone the dashboard file and rename it, when we publish the dashboard to the workspace it creates a new report. Ideally, it would replace the report that is already in the workspace, which was published from the previous iteration of the file.
Does anyone have any ideas that could help us? We appreciate your time.
Thanks.
Hi @w12ag1,
That should be the normal operation. We can't replace the report with others which have different names. But there could be a solution. You can store them in different folders without changing their names. For example, the Backup folder has the original files while the Develop folder has the files you are working with. But all the files have the same name. You can replace the reports in the Service by publishing files now.
Best Regards,
Dale
