How to open a excel file from Power BI

Hi All, 

I'm trying to figure out how to create a link in Power BI to a excel file stored on a network drive and have Excel launch the file.

I used the file://drivepath/file.xls to create the link to the file, however Excel does not automatically launch and open the file.

All that happens is the file explorer opens to the drivepath folder and selects/highlights file.xls

Anyone have any idea on how to get Power BI to launch the file itself?

Note: This is in our server environment. The link doesn't work in the desktop environment.
