I have been assigned the task to get rid off (to delete) unwanted dataflows, datasets, reports from individual workspace. (In total there 5 Workspaces) each having roughly 6 dataflows each totalling to 30 Dataflows
However, before initiating this I want to ensure is there tried and tested method of working this out. I mean I want to figure out before deleting a DATAFLOW, none of my reports or dependent datasets break (as there are reports being used in prodcuetion environment.
One way is to check the LINEAGE VIEW (from PBI Service), that shows (what datasets and reports depend) on a specific dataflow.
Has anyone on this forum worked through this problem, would appreciate if you guys let me know what would be the best way to get this done please.
Thanks
Hi @smjzahid ,
As far as I know there is no such feature to automatically do this job. You will need to do this job manually as GilbertQ said.
Best Regards,
Jay
Hi @smjzahid
While it is a manual process I would get a list of all the dataflows via the lineage view from your app workspaces to see where they are used or there are duplicates.
Then delete the dataflows that are no longer needed.
This will also allow you to document the dataflows and which ones were deleted.
