How to allow App consumers to create copy of report?

I published an app. Although I gave dataset build and share permission to all app users, not even me as the creator and owner of everything can download the file or create a copy of the report to my workspace.

Thank you @ibarrau That's a bit weird.

  • Using datasets accross workspaces is enabled for everyone.
  • Download report files is enabled for everyone.
  • No incremental refresh in use.
  • Users have build permission in the app.
  • Users have share permission in the app.
  • Affected users even can download the file and create a copy of the report in my workspace when opening the report form the underlying workspace, but not from the app.
  • Users have a Pro license.

It's not marked as a Premium feature. Might this be some bug that was introduced with the new audience specific app experience? Or is there some Azure AD policy that could prevent this - although this would surprise me?

Hi Martin. Please check at tenant admin portal settings that you can download reports and allow sharing datasets across workspaces. Those options might prevent you from doing those actions. Consider that there are other limitations on the dataset that might block the download (like incremental refresh).

I hope that helps,
