How many is too many dashboards ?

Hi all,

In your opinion, for a medium or large company, what would you say is the reasonable maximum number of dashboards and/or reports a company should have. Please provide a maximum number figure ?

Technically speaking, dashboards are made from reports, but let's call them all dashboards, so we can agree on what is a reasonable amount of dashboards Vs. a company that has gone bananas building dashboards.

We all know that not enough information is not good, but too much information can also be detrimental.

For each level of the business if there can be a few dashboards reliant on a handful of reports being under the hood I feel this is optimal. I think a follow-up question to this could be how many dashboards do you feel comfortable maintaining?
