Hello,
I am working on a Power BI dashboard which pulls data from a SQL server using imported queries. Earlier last week, I had the dashboard published and set incremental refreshes on the Power BI service. It was working fine until over the weekend, when the laptop the dashboard and gateway was stored on was offline. Now the dashboard refuses to connect, under the managed connections and gateways it just keeps showing offline. However the gateway shows that it is online.
I have tried uninstalling the gateway and reconfiguring. I ran the network test on the gateway and it showed success across all ports. I have tried everything I have been able to find. Can anyone please help?

From your images, it appears that you have installed a new gateway. If you have installed a new gateway, you would need to create a new connection that is using the new gateway. You have created. If you could please try this and us know.
Hey @GilbertQ ,
I have done this and I still get the issue where the gateway is online but when I try to refresh the connection, it keeps failing
Hi @needhelpexpedit If you click on the red triangle, what is the error message?
here is a picture of the error message, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the gateway, restarting the gateway in numerous ways, I even deleted all connections and gateways and reconfigured only to keep getting this issue
That is a very unhelpful error message 🙂
If you go to On-Premises gateways, what is the status of the gateway?

Hello @needhelpexpedit
If you have uninstalled and reinstalled the gateway, ensure that all residual files were deleted before reinstalling. Manually delete folders like:
• `C:\Users$$username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Enterprise Gateway`
• `C:\Program Files\Power BI Enterprise Gateway`
Ensure that you are running the latest version of the gateway
Temporarily disable and re-enable the gateway in Power BI Service under “Manage Gateways.”
I am running the latest version that the power bi service links to. Also, those folders auto delete when I uninstall the gateway software and go back through the app data folders.
