Hi!
I am working on a report of Matrix Visual with Multiple Row headers with Hierarchy of Side by Side. Means +/- icon off and Stepped Layout off. And Since I have many rows, I am using the Freeze / Unfreeze Row headers option in Power BI Desktop by selecting a particular row cell and right click. See the below picture for example
With the help of unfreeze, if needed I can scroll to extreme right and left.
But If I try the same by publishing in Workspace, I don't get the freeze and unfreeze row headers option. below image is the ref
This is the Sample one. But in real PBIX, I have many rows where I can't even scroll horizontally to see the columns and Values.
Kindly help. I am working with PRO license.

As Freeze/Unfreeze option available over a workspace, we had developed reports such to avail this functionality. As M/S removed the option from workspace, the reorts are not giving correct insight for which it has been developed. Now either need to have workaround or need to change the requirement or M/S to bring back the functionality.
Can anyone from Microsoft confirmt that if the unfreeze row headers functionality is removed from the PowerBi service. It is a bit urgent as if it is removed then we need to redesign the report .
Hi @jayasurya_prud and @hackcrr .
We are having the same problem on a report published on PowerBi service several months ago. I can say with certainty that the "freeze/unfreeze row headers" feature was also available on PowerBi service: the report was based precisely on the possibility of unfreezing the column headers to see all the data. I couldn't say when this feature was no longer available on PowerBi service, but in our case it was only reported to us yesterday, since our users are unable to use the report as usual.
Maybe it was disabled for performance reasons? Does anyone know if there's any chance it can be restored? Otherwise, we will have to redesign the report.
Best regards.
Hi, @jayasurya_prud
The freeze/unfreeze row headers feature in Power BI Desktop is a desktop-specific capability that allows you to pin row headers in place when scrolling horizontally within the report view. Unfortunately, this feature is not currently available in the Power BI service (the web version when you publish to a workspace or share with others).
However, there are a few workarounds you can try to improve the experience for your users:
Reduce the number of columns: If possible, consider reducing the number of columns in your matrix visual to make it more manageable within the Power BI service. You can do this by hiding unnecessary columns or aggregating data into fewer columns.
If you have a lot of data and need to display it in multiple pages, you can use pagination to split your matrix visual into multiple pages. This allows users to navigate between pages to view different columns.
Instead of trying to fit all the data into a single matrix visual, consider breaking it down into multiple visuals. Each visual can focus on a specific subset of data, making it easier to view and interpret.
If this is a critical feature for your use case, you can consider submitting a feature request to Microsoft through the Power BI Ideas portal. This allows you to provide feedback and vote on existing feature requests.
