Fixed IP address

We are developing power bi reports that connect to a Amazon Redshift instance. This has been setup so that it only accepts connections from a fixed ip address (of traffic  from our network)

When we deploy reports to the power bi service, they cannot connect - as the service has a different ip address - and this is presumably not fixed or has a large range of addresses.

Has anyone found a way of making data coming from the power bi service have a fixed ip address ?  Maybe routing traffic through something like an instance of Azure API Management (which can have a fixed IP address)

Hi. I think this list contains almost all IP addresses from azure. You can download it and look for PowerBi. There you should find all the possible IPs.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56519

That should work.

If you still have problemas maybe you can do it by domain:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/organizations/security/allow-list-ip-url?view=azure-de...

I hope that helps,

You could create a VM with static IP, than install a Power BI on-premises gateway in the VM.

Create a connection in Power BI online using that on-premises gateway.

Microsoft support were able to give us the list of Azure IP's for Power BI service for our region (UK south).

This was still too many - and we are going to try to route the traffic via our on prem gateway
