External Redshift Serverless Data Share with PBI Native Connector using DB Connection + Service SSO

Good day,

My previous post, i was helped & directed to Power Query Amazon Redshift connector - Power Query | Microsoft Learn

The approach to use basic auth was rebuffed leaving the native redshift connect not to work

Can Native still work with DB Connection & Service SSO or is DB connection credentials also classified as Basic Auth?

Please anyone have links on how to configure this enviornment with client Azure AD to internal Redshift DB Connection for SSO?

Please any ideas?

Regards

Hi @icassiem

First, you'll need to enable Redshift SSO feature in your tenant settings.

Then you would follow the general guidelines for configuring Microsoft Entra SSO. This involves setting up your Azure AD to communicate with Redshift and manage authentication tokens.

For a detailed guide on configuring SSO with Azure AD for Redshift, please refer to the documentation on:
Federate Amazon Redshift access with Microsoft Azure AD single sign-on | AWS Big Data Blog

Thank You very much @Anonymous

I will keep this for future reference, my leadership has decided to go back to API sharing to PBI 😞

Sharing & debugging custom connectors with clients is not ideal, plus so many limitations (data volume etc)
