When exporting in "Summarized Data" and getting a blank file, it typically indicates an issue with the way data is summarized or with the configuration of the matrix visual in Power BI. Here are some things to check and try:
1. Check Summarization Settings:
- In Power BI, make sure that each field in your matrix is set to an appropriate summarization (e.g., sum, average, count). If certain fields are not summarized, it could lead to blank exports in the "Summarized Data" option.
2. Review Matrix Columns and Rows Configuration:
- Sometimes, having fields in both the rows and columns in a matrix can cause issues with "Summarized Data" exports. Try moving fields around or simplifying the matrix by temporarily removing certain fields to see if any specific field is causing the issue.
3. Remove Complex Measures or Conditional Formatting:
- If your matrix visual includes complex DAX measures or conditional formatting, this can interfere with the summarization process in Power BI exports. Try exporting the data without these measures or formatting to see if this resolves the issue.
4. Avoid Using "Values" as Columns:
- If you have multiple fields under "Values" in the matrix, try placing them under rows instead. The "Summarized Data" export sometimes has issues with matrix visuals that use "Values" as columns.
5. Export in "Underlying Data" Instead:
- If summarized data is causing issues, try switching to "Underlying Data" as the export option. This export type provides more detailed data, which might include everything you need even though it’s not aggregated. Note that this option will include more raw data rather than aggregated summaries.
6. Try Different Levels of Aggregation:
- If your matrix has multiple levels (e.g., drill-down levels in rows or columns), try adjusting the aggregation level. Some matrix structures with multi-level hierarchy can result in empty "Summarized Data" exports.
If none of these solutions work, it could be a bug in Power BI, especially if you’re using an older version. In that case, updating to the latest Power BI Desktop version or reaching out to Power BI support might help. Let me know if you need further assistance!

Hi, @L_G
Based on your description, I reproduce the issue:
We see that there is an enable content option at the top:
Log in to your PowerBI account:
Then the data is displayed successfully:
Then, you can save this excel file as a local file!
Best Regards

HI @v-jianpeng-msft,
thank you for your reply.
I got the problem only in the case in which my matrix has dimensions also in columns.
If I set the same matrix only with dimensions in rows, It work fine as you showed in the example.
Thank you so much.
LG

Hi @FarhanJeelani,
the first option works fine but my client need a flat file, so I need to export data with the second option.
Have you ever got the same "error"?
