Explanation of all operations in the "Feature usage and adoption report"

Hello! I'm using the report from the Admin Monitoring workspace and would like to know all the possible operations it records and the meaning of each to ensure I'm aligned with the right one.

Thanks

Hello @julsr

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-sg/fabric/admin/feature-usage-adoption

I have listed down few most important one , but this is not a comprehensive list.

Operations Captured in the Report

The report tracks various activities performed by users within the Fabric environment. These include:

  • Report Viewing (ViewReport): Tracks when users view Power BI reports.
  • Content Sharing: Monitors how content such as reports and dashboards is shared across the organization.
  • Data Exporting: Records instances of data being exported from reports or datasets.
  • Editing Activities: Tracks when datasets or reports are modified.
  • Workspace and Capacity Usage: Captures activity trends within specific workspaces or capacities.

Key Metrics in the Report

The following metrics are calculated to help admins understand feature usage:

  • Active Capacities: Number of capacities with recorded audit activities.
  • Active Users: Number of users generating audit activity.
  • Active Workspaces: Workspaces with recorded audit activities.
  • Total Activities: Total count of all tracked operations within a specified period.
  • Items Count: Total number of items in use or available in the tenant

Activity Details

  • Shows granular details about specific activities, including:
    • Creation time
    • Capacity and workspace names/IDs
    • User principal name (UPN) of the individual performing the activity
    • Operation type
    • Total number of activities performed

If this helps , please accept the answer

Thanks. I looked at that page before but looking further I found this list, here are all the operations recorded by the report
