Firstly, the refresh of the reports was working until recently and to my knowledge nothing had actually changed.
The first I heard about there being an issue is that my customer had noticed data wasn't refreshing in reports (they are the admins so I don't receive the emails of failed refreshes).
The error they're receiving for one of their datasets, but all are affected:

The 'Table' component of the error changes.
I've checked that the gateway (Standard, not personal) is running and up-to-date. The data loads perfectly in the desktop app and I can authenticate through the datasource I configured for the gateway. I'm at a loss as to what is causing this.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?
