Error message when adding users to RLS roles

I'm trying to add users to RLS roles. It is allowing me to add their email addresses, but when I click save, the page lags and I get an error message:

Based on the error message there might be a temporary service issue or a permission conflict when saving RLS role changes. Please try the following steps:

• Ensure you have Admin or Member access to the workspace not just Viewer or Contributor.
• Try adding a single user with a valid internal email format, because sometimes role updates fail due to misalignment or incorrectly formatted email addresses.
• Clear the browser cache and use a different browser or private/incognito window.
• If your dataset is part of a deployment pipeline, make changes in the development stage and redeploy if required.
