Error in PBI Desktop when connecting live to Datasets in the Service

Today, the PBI destop is no longer allowing to open .pbix files that are connected (live) to Datasets in the Service (this is for us a routine practice). The error shown is this:

A similar error appears when creating a new report attempting to connect to a Dataset in the Service:

I am not aware of any Admin/security change on our side... Is there any temporary issue in the Sercice????

False alarm! The error message was correct! An AD Group used to limit export activity had just expired.. I am wondering how/if such groups should be non-expiring!
In any case, one more lesson learned..

Hi, @anselmojg

Glad to hear that you have found the reason for your problem by yourself, here’s a document that explains how to set expiration policy for Microsoft 365 groups in Azure Active Directory, you can take a look:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/enterprise-users/groups-lifecycle

If you find it’s helpful, would you like to mark my reply and your own reply as a solution so that others can learn from it too?

Thanks in advance!

Hi. I have just tried this and both are working for me. Please be sure to ask your admin if the "Use datasets across workspaces" option is enabled.

I hope that helps,
