Error Power Bi Service refresh dataset

Hi,

Really appreciate som help here!

I have built a report in Power BI desktop. Everything works on my laptop and when I publish the report looks nice and all visuals are working. However, when I refresh the data (use Getaway - personal) many of my visuals doesn't work anymore. I get the message that "The query reference column '"TableX"'("columnX") which depends on another column, relationship or measure that is not in avalid state". My "columnX is a standard calculated column and I get no error when refreshing in the Desktop version.

Any suggestions?

Hi @v-ljerr-msft

Thank you very much!

In my case it wasn't a case of date format but will explore if that could have been the case.

My "columnx" was a calculated column that was based on another "columnY". "ColumnY" was used the funciotn RELATED, getting values from an other table. Instead of using RELATED i merged the other table in the query and then it worked with the update in the Power Bi Service, as well as on the desktop version. Not sure why but it worked.

Hi @mueland,

Based on my research, this issue usually occurs when a Date calculate column is used in a visual. Followings are two similar threads in which two solutions are mentioned. Could you go to check if it helps?Smiley Happy

1. Use Format: http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/On-calculated-field-using-the-date-hierarchy-causes-an-error...

2. Remove all the dates earlier than 1900-01-01:  http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Date-Hierarchy-couldn-t-load-the-data-for-this-visual/m-p/63...
