We're trying to migrate to using more centralized data sets as an organization. As part of that, we've created a master data model for our most common data source using Dataverse to pull Dynamics 365 data. We've rebuilt the reports to use the new data source, and everything looks great until we try to embed with a service principal.
Once embedded, data from upstream datasets causes HTTP 401 errors upon visualization load. The error message says "Couldn't load the data for this visual." Best I can tell, this is happening because the dataset became an Analysis Services style dataset at some point, and those are unable to be embedded.
We have one straightforward report with a lineage like Master Dataset --> Individual Dataset --> Report that can be updated to use the master dataset directly, which fixes the issue. We have another report that uses other data sources in addition to the master dataset. That lineage looks more like this:
Master ---------------------↘
Azure Blob Data --------- > Individual Dataset --> Report
Online CSV file ------------ ↗
Is there a method or workaround in order to allow us to A) use a shared master dataset for our most common data models and B) optionally allow report builders to add other sources of data and C) embed those reports once complete
