Hi,
We have a fabric workspace and reports embedded on our own website.
Recently, our clients have reported that they are unable to export the data as an Excel and the following error appears.
'File couldn't be created: Executing the Query for the Export Data operation resulted in an error.'
We are able to replicate the error on the website, but there is no error when we are on the Power BI desktop/web.
I have done an extensive search on Google and the Fabric community, which seems to have no resolution; some even say it's a bug.
How can I resolve this error?
Thanks
Jennifer

Hi,
We are unable to come up with a resolution so we will switch to using import mode.
Thanks
Jennifer

Hi @JLYT
Just checking in ,were you able to switch to Import mode, and did that resolve the issue on your side?

Hi @JLYT,
How is the report embedded on the website? Are you using a public embed code/Publish to Web?
Once something is made public, some features are disabled.

Hi,
The report is embedded on the website using the embed code.
The user was able to use this function before with the same embedding method; there are no changes in the model or report at all.
Thanks
Jennifer
Hi @JLYT,
Where is the excel file located? Is it on prem and using a data gateway? If so you might be able to get more logs out of the gateway to troubleshoot the error more.
