Embedded Report

Hi all,

The company that I work has an embedded to web Power BI Report for which they forgot the workspace where is stored.
Is there a way to find out to which Power BI Workspace it belongs?

Thank you!

Hi @AndreiSfarc ,

You can use the Power BI PowerShell cmdlets to find the workspace where the embedded report is stored. First, you need to make sure you have the Power BI PowerShell module installed. If you don't have it, you can install it using the following command:

Install-Module -Name MicrosoftPowerBIMgmt

Next, connect to the Power BI service account:

powershell
Connect-PowerBIServiceAccount

Now, you can loop through all the workspaces in your organization and check for the report. Replace with the name of the embedded report you're looking for:YourReportName

$reportName = "YourReportName"
$workspaces = Get-PowerBIWorkspace -Scope Organization -All

foreach ($workspace in $workspaces) {
$reports = Get-PowerBIReport -WorkspaceId $workspace.Id -Scope Organization
$foundReport = $reports | Where-Object { $_.Name -eq $reportName }
if ($foundReport) {
Write-Host "Report found in workspace: $($workspace.Name)"
break
}
}

This script will loop through all the workspaces in your organization and print the name of the workspace where the report is found. If the report is not found in any workspace, it won't print anything.

Neeko Tang
