Hi PBI Team,
Could you please advise me if it is possible to embed reports with dynamic RLS in SharePoint online - SPO? If that's the case, could you please share any links to the steps? I tried to look through the power bi community blogs but couldn't find any firm answers. Thanks.
Hi. I haven't tried it, but the way docs describe it, it should work the same way a pro license works. You can publish the report with the dynamic RLS configured. Then when the user logs in at the sharepoint, that email should have pro account in order to view the report. In addition they might be Viewers at the Workspace the report is published.
Here you have more info about Dynamic RLS: https://blog.ladataweb.com.ar/post/652895563673649152/powerbi-seguridad-de-filas-rls-con-regla
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!
Hi @ibarrau
Thank you for your note. I used [Email] = userprincipalname() in Power BI Desktop to view the data as - the email addresses and I was able to view the data with a specific role (email address). However, when I use 'Test as role' in Power BI Services, I am unable to see the same. Please be advised that I have added the email addresses to the Row-level security option under the dataset option, and my workspace is set to premium per capacity. Thanks.
