Hi, we're trying to embed a report into a SharePoint Communication Site, we have Premium Capacity but some users are not able to see the report as they're not members of the App Workspace (don't have access), I read that I should add the Group email as a Worspace member but we're using a Communication Site, not a Team/Group Site...so I'm not sure how to do that....any workaround? we don't want to use the "Publish to web" option...

Hi @Anonymous,
>>I read that they need to have a PowerBI PRO license...but we have Premium Capacity so that shouldn't be a limitation....also, I read that I need to give access to all users to the report in the workspace, but I can't add +6000 emails accounts
In fact, other communities also mentioned that, it seems like current premium license not works for 'embed to sharepoint' feature. (It only allow pro license users to view)
I'd like to suggest you open support ticket to contact power bi team for better support. And submit an idea about improve 'embed to sharepoint' feature if current power bi not support this.

HI @Anonymous,
Maybe you can try to share dashboard to these external users, then they can use email to view your contents.
In fact, I also not familiar with sharepoint communication site, it seems like blog site which only allow owner to edit.

Communication Site vs Team Site

Hi Xiaoxin,
I appreciate your response, but what we're trying to do is to "Embed a PowerBI report" to our Intranet (SharePoint Communication Site), we actually did it but not all the Company is able to see the embedded report.
I read that they need to have a PowerBI PRO license...but we have Premium Capacity so that shouldn't be a limitation....also, I read that I need to give access to all users to the report in the workspace, but I can't add +6000 emails accounts...and since it's not a Group/Team Site....I don't have an O365 group email to use for giving access to everyone at the same time, so I'm kinda in a dead-end here... 😞

Hi Simon, it looks like for embedding a report you need to get the link from the published App, not the report in the workspace...the only issue is that the end user has to load the app at least once so it gets registered in their own web service, after that, they'll be able to see the embedded report.
Hope that helps!

Hi Vjalilh,
Thanks for your reply but unfortunatly it did not help - the users still have to be added to the app and can not be inherit from the sharepoint communication site.
I think it is a bit odd - all the datasources (sharepoint lists) are placed on the sharepoint site which all users have access to. In other words, what Power BI does is to turn it into a visual overview. No other datasources are used.
Do we know whether it is something the Power BI team is planning to work on - sharing dashboards in large organisations? I mean, the communication site a lot of users two places (sharepoint + Power BI) makes it very dificult.
Best,
Simon.
