Dynamic subtitles without dax

When I switch subtitle on in my power bi visualization, the subtitle is dynamic by default. I use a parameter on the X-axis and one on the Y-axis so the whole subtitle is dynamic, just how I want it to be. But I accidentally edited the subtitle and now it is static and I can't change it back to a dynamic title without using dax.

How is this functionality set up? I want to make the title dynamic again.

I have version 2.138.1452.0

Hi @Janee

To make your Power BI subtitle dynamic again:

  1. Select the visual.
  2. Open the Format pane, expand Subtitle.
  3. Click the fx button next to the subtitle text box.
  4. Choose Field value in the popup and select your dynamic measure or field.
  5. Click OK.

This rebinds the subtitle to a dynamic field.

Thanks for your message. My dynamic title is not based on value, measure or fields. It is based on what I select in the parameter. The xxx are dynamic. My titles look like xxx per xxx. When I use the fx function, My title will be like xxx only.

Hi, @Janee

May I ask if your problem is solved? If not resolved, can you provide sample data and your expected output? This will better describe your problem. How to provide sample data in the Power BI Forum - Microsoft Fabric Community

I have two parameters in a visual and the title is dynamic:

Actually, I don't want the first parameter to be in the title of the visual, but I can't change it. Because once I want to change the title, the title will be static. By default, my subtitle looks like this: the textbar will chang autmatically according to what I select in the parameter. Once I edit something in the title text bar, the title turns into a static title and I can't change it back to how it was (dynamic based on the parameters).

So I think it's a power bi default setting, but I don't know where I can change the technical setting of the sub title.
