Hello,
I've encounter problems with the filtering a report when using a subscriptions.
I've created a report which I like to filter on year.
So I’ve created a dynamic subscription. I’ve created a semantic model containing e-mail and outcome. I dynamically defined the e-mail and outcome. So far this goes well. I've received 1 e-mail with a copy of the report in PDF Format as defined. The report shows the results for all the years together which is expected.
After I made sure this goes well I've added year to the semantic model and dynamically set the filter on Year. I have defined 3 years. When I run this I receive 3 e-mails but the results are all the same. The filtering just doesn't work.
For my setup I've used the following guideline: Dynamic subscriptions for Power BI reports (Preview) | Microsoft Power BI Blog | Microsoft Power BI.
What I can't find is the selection box “include my changes”. Why is this setting not visible and is this perhaps the cause of my problem?
On the other hand I don't think it is because when I read this guide; Email subscriptions for reports and dashboards in the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn it seams that when "Include my changes" is ticked, the state should be "Default". In my case the state is "Default".
So I come to the conclusion that the dynamic filtering when using subscriptions for reports is not working. Could you investigate this? I know this function is in preview but we are really looking forward using this function.
Sincerely,
Jack van de Ven.
I am receiving a similar error just to confirm you are not the only one. When I set the deynamic filter using a column in a table I have created just for subscriptions, I do see the filter get applied to my visuals in the PDF report. But, when I click on the attacked pbix file in my email, it does not open a report that is filtered!
Hello Wu,
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I didn't change names. This would create a lot of problems because the Model is also used on multiple dashboards. I've created a single report only for e-mailing which we connect to the central model.
Hi @Jackieeee ,
Based on the knowledge, if the names of columns or tables are changed in the semantic model while the subscription is processing, dynamic filters might not be applied properly.
