Hello,
I am looking to see if I can create a semantic model in Workspace A using the table from a Lakehouse in Workspace B?
Workspace A is for business user to diegest the data to build their own reports, while Worspace B is for developer.
The current solution I tried is to create another Lakehouse in Workspace A and using datapipeline to copy data from Workspace B to A. But would like to see if there's a way get it done without a Lakehouse in Workspace A.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Hi,
That's a very good question. Currently, Fabric doesn't support to create a semantic model from another workspace. It gives you option to select another workspace but only display the list of objects from the current workspace.
I would suggest you to use/create Shortcut in Lakehouse(workspace B) instead of copying the data using Data Pipeline. Then, you can create a Semantic model from the lakehouse in workspace B.
Above image is a sign showing it's a shortcut table from another lakehouse.

Hi @schou ,
You can check semantic link and you will be able to access the data and you can move it.

I hope it will be helpful.
Thanks,
