I need help on requirement where we need to downoad the dataset from the power bi report that has live connection.

There are many modeling limitations in live connect mode, I am afraid it is difficult to directly export the data model of the underlying data.

Hi @Anonymous ,

A live connection means that Power BI is directly connecting to the originating source (SQL for example).  Therefore, you aren't downloading anything from Power BI as much as you can get the dataset from the original source - SQL for example.  The data stays in your original database.

If you are asking about exporting the data FROM Power BI I guess that you could create a table visual and export from there - but that has a 150,000 row limit to Excel.
