Hi Team,
I am playing around with the getGroups non-admin API, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/groups/get-groups
I see only ACTIVE Workspaces getting listed, which are given access to the Service Principal account.
Question is whether this API supports any other state of workspace.
For instance, with Admin version of this API, I could see states-DELETED, REMOVING for few workspaces.
In addition, documentation says ORPHANED state too. I am unable to create one as from UI it forces to have atleast one Admin User. Is there any way to create one orphaned state workspace?
Thanks.
Hi @Mrugesh ,
To create and configure a workspace you must have administrator access to the workspace. The same requirements must be met even if created via the rest api method.
There are also no configuration parameters for workspace role in the documentation.
If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards,
Henry

@v-henryk-mstf Yes, create workspace API do not support state parameter. Having said that I was trying to create a workspace from Power BI UI but unable to do so for ORPHANED state. Does that mean ORPHANED state workspaces no more applicable as atleast one Admin must be configured ?
Question is for fetching the workspaces which are already been created. Does https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/groups/get-groups API returns only ACTIVE state workspsaces ? Or does it also include any other state as well ?
Thanks,
Mrugesh
