Do users get notification when their access levels are changed from Power BI service?
Hi Marico ,
When a user's access level is changed in the Power BI service (e.g., from Admin to Viewer or Member to Viewer), Power BI does not send a notification to the user by default. The change is applied silently, and it's up to the admin or workspace owner to communicate such updates if needed.
As for sharing reports, users with Viewer access generally cannot share reports with others. Viewer access is primarily read-only, meaning users can view and interact with reports or dashboards but cannot:
- Share the report or dashboard with others.
- Download the PBIX file.
- Edit the content or make changes to the workspace.
However, there are exceptions if the admin enables certain permissions (e.g., "Allow recipients to share the content"). It's worth checking the workspace settings or the sharing options for any custom configurations.
Let me know if you need further clarification! 😊
