I have try to create a datasource with PostgreSQL DB via DirectQuery. No problem on PowerBI Desktop but on PowerBI service, when try to lad the dashboards go in error. It seems that PostgreSQL via DirectQuery is not supported on PowerBI Service. Is that correct? When this feature will be released?
Thanks for reply.

Hi @Anonymous
PostgreSQL is supported in power bi service, you can refer to the official documents to see the supported data source:
please make sure you've configured the data source under the gateway.
Hi,
the problem is with DirectQuery not working on PowerBi Service, as it says in the documentation you linked @v-diye-msft .
DirectQuery = NO
OP is asking whether this is on the roadmap or already scheduled to release as this feature is available in PowerBi Desktop.
When can one configure a PowerBi Gateway to use DirectQuery with Postgres?
There is an open source connector https://github.com/sgoley/DirectQuery-for-ODBC-in-PowerBI for this, but I've yet to test it.
At the moment (19/10/20), the Power BI Data Sources table shows Direct Query/Live Connection support for PostgreSQL.
Still, even simple correctly folded tables (verified with QueryFolding) cannot be shown.
I would like Microsoft to clarify if there are indeed still some bugs which would force PostgreSQL to use ODBC connector.
