Hey guys , i keep having the same problem . After i link the tables , the relationship is working . all up until i want to use a visual. I always get the same error.
i thought the problem was trying to use a measure with a direct query table but when i try to use a field from each table to create a visual i still get the same error. One of the ways i thought of was to build a new table with selected columns fro multiple tables but i dont know the DAX syntax for that. Direct query is a must as the dataset is too big for import.
Cheers
i just checked the data types to make srue again that they're the same and i was right . the data types are all the same . One of my guesses is because the visual's fields are a measure in one table and a text field in another . But i really dont know
Hi @Anonymous ,
A large part of the cause of this error report is a change in data type. In the power query, mergers like merger or append are used.
You can try use COMBINEVALUES to create a new column in DirectQuery model. The primary purpose of this function is to support multi-column relationships in DirectQuery models.
