Direct Query Power BI Embedded

Can we use direct query in power bi embedded? if yes then are there any limitations?

The data is related with Aviation and currently stored in Azure SQL data base, users want to see real time movement of airplanes 

We have already designed around 20 reports and we want those reports to embed in react application, it should be secure embed and single sign-on , we do not want to buy license for each individual user since there are around 3000 plus users in our organization

Based on your description, you should first determine whether you want to implement Embeded for your organization or for your customers, because their verification methods are different. For specific information, you can refer to the following two documents:

Secondly, you mentioned that you don’t want to purchase a license for each customer, so you can probably only put your content in the premium capacity. You can also refer to the link below for more detailed information. This document also provides Test.

As for your question, yes.

As for limitations, you can consider the limitations of Direct Query,for example:
1. If the data changes, it must be refreshed to show the latest data.
2. Consistency between visual objects cannot be guaranteed if the data changes.
3. The Power BI service does not automatically update the list of available fields if the underlying source architecture changes. To update the fields in the model to reflect the changes, you must open the report in Power BI Desktop and select Refresh.
4. The result set of a query to an external data source cannot exceed the maximum allowable size of "1,000,000" rows.
5. Date/Time is only supported at the second level, not milliseconds.
