if i use directQuery mode, can set Refresh schedule? as i know, Power BI Report Server does not support refresh schedule for directQuery mode, so Power BI service support refresh schedule when report with DirectQuery Mode?
Meanwhile, where can find the source source which support/not support import mode/direct query/live connection and refresh schedule??

Hi @pennyhoho117 ,
Thank you for your response.
In Live connection, data is not imported into Power BI, it remains in the external data source and data is pre-modeled like SSAS.Where in DirectQuery, data is also not imported into Power BI, it remains in the underlying relational database like SQL Server and it does not require pre-aggregated data in the external system and operates directly with raw tables.
For clear understanding, providing the documents for your reference.

To set up a Live Connection,in the home ribbon click on Get Data and choose more option. In the search bar, serach for Analysis Services then selsect either SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) or Azure Analysis Services. After connecting to the server, you will be aked with connection modes, Choose Connect live (or Live Connection) to establish a live connection.

Hi @pennyhoho117,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum regarding the query.
Since data in DirectQuery mode is always queried directly from the data source in real time, there is no need for scheduled refresh.

As my report is published to Power BI Service with Direct Query Mode, we need to send the report to users using Power Automate, hence we want to set up Refresh Schedule to refresh latest report data, when report with Direct Query Mode, cannot set refresh schedule?<we dont use Import mode because import mode would save report data to power bi cloud, but out company not allow it as there is sensitive data>
Hi @pennyhoho117 ,
With DirectQuery, you do not need to "refresh" the report. Users will always see the latest data when they open the report. Instead, you can automate notifications to ensure they know when to access the report.
Glad that your query got resolved. If yes, please give us Kudos and consider accepting it as solution. For any further assistance, feel free to reachout.
