Hi everyone,
I deleted the items in my first stage (Development Stage) using the ellipses, then selecting Delete. It removed the item from the Dev Stage but when passing that action from Dev to Test, it just says that the Item "is not in the source" but I can't pass that action through the next stages. What did I do wrong? How should I remove the items from initial stages and pass this same action to next stages so everything is recorded by the Deployment Pipeline log?
Thanks
@julsr Hey,
I will below steps to remove a item from deployement pipeline.
Use Deployment Pipeline Actions: Instead of manually deleting items using the ellipses, utilize the Deployment Pipelines feature to manage deletions. This helps ensure that all actions are tracked in the pipeline log.
Sync Stages Before Deletion: Prior to deleting an item, ensure that all stages are synced. This allows an accurate snapshot of the current state of your items across stages.
Delete Through Pipeline: Use the deployment pipeline's interface to perform the deletion or manage items across stages. This action usually reflects in logs and tracks changes properly.
Steps to Remove Items and Pass Actions:
Pipeline Feature:
Access the Deployment Pipeline tool in Power BI.
Ensure all stages are aligned and synced.
Delete and Remove:
Perform item removal using the pipeline's options where possible, not directly through the Power BI workspace.
Logging:
Confirm that the action is logged by checking the pipeline history. This should show deletion actions and transitions.
Thanks

Kindly accept this as a solution if it resolves your problem, and please consider giving kudos to the post as well.
Thanks but using this "Delete option" is not the same as deleting from the workspace? I was thinking of something like what @v-pgoloju suggested
Hi @julsr,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.
Use the Deployment Pipeline UI, not the workspace, to manage items.
In the Dev stage, select the item and click "Remove from pipeline". Then, deploy from Dev to Test the pipeline will now detect and allow removal in Test. Do not delete items manually from the workspace this breaks pipeline tracking. Always manage add/update/delete actions within the pipeline interface for proper logging and deployment.
Please find the official documentation from MS to get more details on deplayment Pipelines.

Thanks for your answer! However, I can't select the items (I click on them and nothing happens) and the only option I have is the ellipses but in there what I can see is Delete, I can't see the "Remove from pipeline" option.
Hi @julsr,
Just to confirm are you trying to remove the item from the workspace UI or from the Deployment Pipeline interface?
The 'Remove from pipeline' option only appears when you're working directly within the Deployment Pipeline view, not the workspace.
Thanks & Regards,
Prasanna Kumar
Hi @v-pgoloju .
I'm using it in the deployment pipeline interface (Power BI > Pipelines > Pipeline1 > Select Dev Workspace to display values that contain this workspace). However, once they are displayed, I don't see the option to delete the files from a specific workspace through the Deployment Pipeline Interface.
Hi @julsr,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.
Thanks for confirming you're using the Deployment Pipeline screen.
Just to check do you have Admin or Member access to both the pipeline and the workspace it's linked to?
Sometimes, if your role is just Viewer or Contributor, certain options like "Remove from pipeline" or the checkboxes might not show up.
Could you confirm your access level so we can help you better?
Best regards,
Prasanna Kumar
Hi! I'm the admin and creator of the Deployment Pipeline.
Hi @julsr,
If the issue still persists, I’d recommend raising a support ticket with Microsoft. The support team can look into the backend and provide more in-depth assistance tailored to your environment.
