Datasource using DNS / Network Name

Hi All,

I have a On-Premise Gateway Cluster and use DNS (Network path)  \\opgw.mydomain.com to select the server.

I am trying to use the DNS name when establish / create a new connection. I need to add the sources to the gateway to establish the refresh however PowerBI doesn't seem to like the gateway DNS / Network name.

In PowerBI Desktop I can \\opgw.mydomain.com\DataGateway$\EA\INVENTORY\F2R19_GIT and the report refreshes and publishes fine.

However when I try to create the connection and enter the same in the Full path field of the connection it returns me an error

OPGW 01: We got the IO error '1326' while trying to access the path '\\opgw.mydomain.com\DataGateway$\EA\INVENTORY\F2R19_GIT\*'.

One of my sources is SharePoint and the account connects to this just fine so it isnt Password / credentials issue.

Privacy settings are fine (Organizational)

If I set the DNS name of one of the servers in the cluster it works, so again it isnt credentials.

Can anyone suggest why I am unable to create a connection using the network name.

Many Thanks
