Hi,
Would appreciate any advice, I'm at a dead-end with my search!
I have a report that uses a Power automate flow to refresh its data. The flow refreshes the dataset anytime a new form is submitted. The report utilises data from the Forms collected in Excel. (The Excel is just an automatic place that the Forms saves its data)
The flow is running perfectly, the dataset is getting refreshed EXCEPT that the visuals don't refresh when a new form is submitted.
I added a 'Last Refreshed' timestamp to my report to see when my visuals update, and they don't update with the automated refreshes.
The only time it does update is when I manually hit refresh in the workspace.
So I thought I'll try adding a refresh option in the report through the 'Power Automate Button'. I created a different flow for this button. But even with that it wouldn't work, again, the dataset refreshed but not the visuals. Worked ONLY with manual refresh.
Does anyone have any idea why this is? Looks like an issue with the api but I can't figure out what to do to solve it.
I didn't know what type of screenshots to add for this type of question. So if anyone needs more information, I'd be happy to provide it.
Thank you!
Sunayana
when you do this automatic update, is this using the service or power automate?

I've attached a screenshot of what the Flow does.
The Automate Flow triggers a refresh in the PBI Service. Then I view the report to see if the data has updated or not. So.. I guess both?
it says refresh a dataset,, if i had to take that literally, you said the data gets updated but not the visual? would it make a difference if you schedule a power bi service update rather than via the automate flow or in addition too?

The way the users use the report is that they wanna look at the report once they submit the form to see their data. So I won't be able to schedule the refresh in the pbi servcie based on that.
I did see that you can do Auto Report Page Refresh with Automate but my report is not a 'DirectQuery' 'cause there are a TON of transformations I do in PowerQuery.
