Dataset refresh from Power BI Online is not showing new columns

I currently use the Refresh function (button) in Power BI online (website) to update my reports on a daily basis. The source is simply an EXCEL file in a online folder (Sharepoint) that is modified daily. The conection of the excel with BI is via Web source and using the path link from sharepoint and making sure it ends in .xlsx.

The problem is that when I refresh the dataset from Power BI online, the agregation of new columns done in the excel online is not showing up in the dataset. The issue is with the new columns added in the excel because for the new rows added, the dataset show this with no issue.

What kind of setup or trick I have to do to show the new columns in my dataset when I refresh on demand from Power BI Online? Just to clarify, I am using an excel file, not a CSV file.

I do not want the solution is to open the DESKTOP FILE, refresh and publish it. This action is really demanding so is has to be just focus/centralized in the dataset refresh from BI online or another trick.

No, not that I know of. Pretty sure there is no way outside of desktop, but am open to being wrong.

Hi @RIBUZ ,

 Unfortunately, Power BI Service does not support schema refresh, only data refresh. Schema refresh needs to be done in desktop.

Is there any way to push the schema refresh without opening the desktop (only restriction) ?
