Dataset Refresh Issues

Hi all,

We have a dataset built off data in SharePoint Online. Currently the dataset is setup with scheduled refresh and has no issues. It also refreshes for the "owner" (This dataset has been configured by...) but if others (who have access to both the data source and are admins in the workspace; no gateway involved since the data source is SharePoint Online) try to refresh the data, they get an error that says the credentials are invalid. That user can then take over the dataset and it will work for them. Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Thanks,

James

Hi there

It would appear that this happens because when you configure the refresh via the Cloud data source it uses the credentials of the user who configured the data source.

And when another user tries to refresh it does not match the data source credentials.

One way would possibly be to have a generic account that has got access to the SharePoint Online data?

Thanks @GilbertQ ! This makes sense. Now, if only we could get better error messages! Appreciate the help.

Yeah it can be a challenge at times to figure things out!
